The Financial Analyst will be instrumental in driving the execution of our strategic plan via comprehensive forecasting and rigorous analysis. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, the Financial Analyst will build business line financial models and monthly forecasts for the Marketplace. The Financial Analyst will also liaise with our parent company and partners to manage accounting processes and controls.
 
Responsibilities:
The successful Financial Analyst will deploy a diverse set of skills to thrive in our dynamic and fast-paced startup environment:
  • Forecasting: Work with business line leaders and product managers to build new business line models and multi-year company, rolling twelve-month forecasts:
    • P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow.
    • Research and document assumptions on costs, market conditions, sales cycle, staffing and staff productivity models.
    • Communicate Executive Summary conclusions.
  • Accounting Support: Liaise with parent company and business partners to support customer invoicing and payables administration.
  • Reporting: Develop Actual vs. Forecast reports and monthly analyses of sales and costs.
  • Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with all company stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Tackle challenges thoughtfully and make data-informed decisions, managing risks and resolving issues throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Customer Orientation: Embrace a customer-centric mindset, attuned to market trends and customer expectations.
  • Adaptability: The agility to operate effectively in our fluid startup environment, responding promptly to evolving business needs.
  • Logistics Industry: While experience in logistics and transportation is a plus.
Key Competencies:
  • Spreadsheet: The Financial Analyst must have advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, database formulas (e.g., SUMIFS,) data tables, and array formulas (e.g., INDEX/MATCH, SUMPRODUCT). Adheres to a disciplined approach to spreadsheet quality, and employs tools (e.g., Arixcel) to prevent errors.
  • Business tools: The Financial Analyst should have knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., Hyperion,) business tools (e.g., Power BI,) and basic AI applications to automate reporting and analysis.
  • Communication skills: The role calls for the ability to condense complex operational and business concepts into easy-to-understand conclusions and recommended courses of action..
